Sorry for the lack of posts this week, my keyboard's spacebar broke & it took me a few days to hunt down a wired apple keyboard in Toronto. My computers to old for those fancy new wireless ones. I now have a sleek new keyboard that will no longer catch crumbs. I very excited about that. Okay now to the fashion part of this post.... I'm just about to head out and thought I would bring you just a fun little post about Fashion Plates. It's was a toy from the 70's/80's that let you "design" outfits. I had one myself and spent hours using it. Do any of you guys remember Fashion Plates? Or did i just totally date myself ;)? I have to thank @realingredients a twitter friend of mine for reminding me of this fabulous childhood toy. I have such fond memories of it.

Just For Fun: Janelle Monáe's Shoes
I love this video for the music, dancing and the shoes. The shoes are amazing. I'm wish I could find a vegan pair just like them. Janelle Monáe has such a fun fashion sense.
Hmmm these two toned Oxfords from the Melissa Plastic Dreams F/W'08 line are not exactly the same as the ones in the video but they are pretty close & pretty awesome.

Just For Fun: The Uniform Project
On April 31rst 2010 we said Au Revoir to The Uniform Project (Year 1). The video below celebrates this unique fundraising project and the many fabulous outfits that were worn along Sheena's 365 day journey! I can't wait to see what Sheena has in store for us next! Also checkout this great interview that Modcloth.com's Blog recently did with Sheena!
p to the s - this project may not be vegan but it still pretty fabulous. Human Rights & Animal Rights go hand in hand and all children no matter where they are in the world should have the right to an education. Thanks to Sheena and her lovely fans many children in India will have that chance! Also a lot of the clothing, accessories and shoes she wore were either donated, upcycled, recycled and vintage. Which would make quite a few of the outfits eco-conscious :).
