Kendy: Plus Size Vegan Style

I am a size 14, 5'10" size 11 shoe wearing vegan - which does not seem to be a problem until I go looking for vegan companies making clothing that fits me and those bigger than me. Did I miss the memo that stated to be vegan you must be a size 6 or smaller? I am bummed that more vegan companies do not make clothing that will fit me - I would so rock a sweet cardigan that said vegan on it or some vegan certified shoes that fit my big feet! Being a plus size (or in my case I feel trapped between standard and plus - which is OK) does not mean you have to go naked or wear stuff that goes against your animal ethics! Here are some fall/winter trends that you can rock at any size!

Color blocking - not just a catch term if you watch Project Runway! This dress has the colors of fall balanced perfectly! The tie around your waist will cinch you in - making your waist look narrow!

A (faux) leather jacket is a classic! It can jazz up or tame an outfit and goes with a lot! I am more of a hoodie girl but know a closet staple when I see one!

3.Evans D Ring Strap Ankle Boots

Everyone needs a pair of kick butt boots in their closet. My dilemma is that my big feet do not match up with my small calves - meaning boots flop on me. If your legs do not match up with your feet try booties - they make the sizing gap less obvious!

Colored denim is big now! If you are afraid to rock a super strong color go for a wash of color. These purple tinted jeans are a step up from blue. I have been rocking a pair of these lately and really like them!

5. Lulu Lepoard Print Dress

You cannot go wrong with leopard - animal print is hot! Show that you can wear an animal print without it actually being the flesh of an animal! I am a big fan of retro looks and leopard should be my middle name!

Remember that no matter what your size is - appreciate your body and all that it does for you and the animals!

Kendy (MissMuffcake) lives in Modesto, CA where she shares space, love and yummy vegan food with her cat Mar and boyfriend Matt. When not in the kitchen veganizing classic Mexican food or cafeteria classics you can find her crafting or looking at glittery accessories!

(Thrifty)Eco Chic: More Zoe&Zac SS11

Payless's green shoe line Zoe&Zac has added a few more cruelty free eco fabulous styles to their SS11 collection. I've heard the 70's are back and I'm thinking the platforms from this collection featured below capture the very essence of that free loving groovy decade. Oh and did I mention that each style is under $40(US)!

SS11: Beyond Skin

I'm pretty sure I uttered wow out loud when I saw Beyond Skins new SS11 collection. It's a collection full of bright colours, fun textures and bold patterns. Their new styles range from cute, to sexy, to sleek, to edgy, to sophisticated. Quite a few of the styles are also made from a recycled faux suede. I have to say when it comes to fun cruelty-free shoes Beyond Skin never disappoints. I'm not really a platform shoe kind of gal but this collection really has me thinking I might need to change my mind. I sort of have my eye on the Karina - Black Suede With Pewter Snake.

SS11: Keep Company

I've been waiting with baited breath for all the SS11 collections from some of my fav vegan brands to start popping up. This spring/summer's wave of new collections begins with Keep Company. Their new SS11 collections has a nautical/navajo feel to it that is tops in my book. I'm coveting The Benten's Lovers Knot boat shoe.

Vegan Shoes: Peep Toe Wedge Booties

Peek-A-Boo spring is just around the corner and soon you'll be able to set those tootsies of yours free from their winter shackles aka your winter boots. I'm thinking these Peep Toe Buckle Wedge Booties available over @ LuLu*s are a nice way to ease your feet into spring.

(Thrifty)Eco Chic: Zoe&Zac

Green shoe line Zoe&Zac's SS11 collection is currently on sale over @ Payless. The Zinnia Bow Ballet and Bouquet Gladiator Sandals are made from an eco-friendly faux leather upper, with an organic cotton lining and recycled rubber sole. The Gladiator Sandal's buckles are nickle free. The Orchard Flats are made from an organic cotton upper/lining and recycled rubber sole. Each shoe is under $30(USA) which in my book is a steal for any eco-friendly cruelty free shoe. I think the Gladiator Sandal is perfect for thee casual Spring sandal. Zoe&Zac also has a line of very affordable eco & vegan socks/tights & handbags.

Vegan Shoes: Form And Fauna

I think these adorable vegan statement flats from Form & Fauna are the perfect shoes for Spring 2011. They're made from an eco-synthetic material, comfortable rubber lining & rubber sole. The Saint Tropez comes in creme & gold and navy platinum. While Form & Fauna have many vegan shoes in their line I should warn you that some of their shoes are made from recycled/vintage materials that are not vegan. Luckly enough F&F gives a in depth description of each pair of shoes materials on their site. So you know the drill make sure to read these descriptions before you make a purchase.

Vegan Shoes: Native Shoes

Thanks to one of my fav vegan ladies Ciara Peter's fabulous blog Animal Friendly Shopping I was introduced to these stellar slip on vegan shoes from Native Shoes. Native Shoes had me @ slip on. However their slip on quality is not the only thing that makes them über awesome. They're made from a light weight foam injected EVA which is washable, odor resistant, 100% vegan and antimicrobial. They also come in 4 oh so casual styles in a plethora of bold bright colours. However if bold and bright is not your thing they also come in some more conservative mute colours. Now that we got the fashion stuff behind us I can also talk about the eco-conscious side to them. They're made with a low energy emissions manufacturing process that uses zero waste injected molds. Ohh I almost forgot they're also a Vancouver based company. Yay Canada! Below are their 4 styles, my personal fave is the Miller. They also have a children's collection.
